Paula Leonardo, MS, BCBA
Paula Leonardo is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and is the Vice President of Behavior Basics Incorporated, a behavioral sciences consulting firm based in Florida. Paula obtained her Master of Science Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology in 2003. Paula assists in overseeing the company and strategic growth and planning. Paula is the acting Regional Director in Brevard County and serves as Director of Programs for our Parent Education Programs. Since 2001, Paula has served the community as a Behavior Analyst. She has been with Behavior Basics since the company was born! Paula has a long history of providing excellent services to families experiencing behavior issues with their children or foster children. Paula has extensive experience working with children who suffer with mental health problems and/or developmental issues. Paula gained her practical experience by providing many years of in-home consultation services for caregivers. She has vast experience in working with all types of caregivers and has had great success in changing the lives of those she has worked with. In addition to direct client services, Paula also has over fifteen years of experience providing parenting trainings for caregiver’s as well as developing behavior management programs for regional group homes and mental health facilities.
Paula has served as Director of Programs since 2011. In this capacity, Paula continues to oversee three separate intensive behaviorally based parenting programs to be put in place proactively to keep families together. She oversees our Refocusing the Modern Family Program (RMF), Holistic Approach to Behavior Intensive Treatment (HABIT) Program, and our Family Intensive Recovery Support and Treatment (FIRST) Program. These programs include families where mental health, substance abuse, and other forms of abuse are present or have a long-standing history. Paula supervises the team of behavior coaches to ensure that each family receives outstanding services and support. She is integral to our ties and relationships with community agencies, to include, but not limited to Department of Children and Families and Communities Connected for Kids. Paula represents Behavior Basics in a multitude of meetings in the community to present on programs, service delivery, data and outcomes.
Paula is also our Regional Director of Brevard County for ABA services. Paula was a key player in our recent expansion in this area. In this capacity, she is responsible for presenting to community agencies as well as hiring and training qualified behavior analysts and registered behavior techs, managing caseloads and day to day operations.
Paula is also the co-author of “The Secrets of Modern Parenting” DVD series, which has helped people all around the world. Paula is also involved with training college student working towards their Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis.
Paula is passionate about spreading the utility of Applied Behavior Analysis throughout child welfare and touching as many lives as possible.
